To schedule your first session, please complete the secure Prospective Patients form accessible on the Contact page of this website. Dr. McAllister will respond within one week to schedule a brief (15-minute) phone call to discuss your needs. If appropriate, an in-person initial assessment will be scheduled.
The initial in-person assessment lasts about 90 minutes. If more time is needed, a follow-up will be arranged. For young children, alternate formats may be considered. The session includes a review of paperwork, collection of background information, and a discussion of presenting concerns. Dr. McAllister will ask clarifying questions and may use standardized rating scales. A Release of Information may also be requested to gather input from schools or other providers.
A diagnosis and treatment plan may not be finalized at the first session. Additional information or sessions may be needed. Dr. McAllister will explain her reasoning and process clearly throughout.

Yes, if your child is under 14. For those 14 and older, attendance is not required at every session, but your involvement will still be necessary at times, either in person or by phone.
Except in cases of imminent risk, what you share remains confidential. Dr. McAllister may encourage you to share certain information with your parents and can support you in doing so, but she will not disclose private information without your consent unless safety is at risk.
